It's Rodeo Time

The Panola Rodeo team will be back in action this weekend in Athens, TX at the Trinity Valley Community College Rodeo.  The slack begins Friday at noon with a performance that night at 7:30 p.m.then the slack on Saturday at 11 a.m.  The Finals will be Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. 

 
The Panola Men's Team is currently sitting #1 in the conference race and working diligently to maintain that top spot.  The College National Finals Rodeo will take the top two teams to the Finals in June in Casper Wyoming.  Sophomore, Logan Cook of Alto, TX, who qualified last year for Panola for the Finals is leading the way as he is currently sitting #1 in the All Around Competition for the Southern Region and hopes to return for his second trip to the CNFR.  Logan is currently sitting 2nd in the saddle bronc, which he qualified last year for the CNFR; 7th in the tie down calf roping; and 6th in the Team roping with partner Colton Johnson of Shreveport.
 
Other teammates in the running for the CNFR include:  Travis Chapman of Woodville, TX is 2nd in Bareback, Tyler Johnson of Athens, TX is 3rd in Bareback, Koby Radley of Holdren, LA is 2nd in Bull riding, 
 
The Rodeo team will be back in action Februarry 23-24 at the Texas A &M Kingsville Rodeo that is held in Robstown, TX.
